The Railway has now opened to the public for the 2013 season. Trains are run every Sunday, the first at 11.00 am and the last around 4.00 pm and also during Brogdale festivals. See our web site for further details.
Our Easter Bank holiday was a great success in spite of the freezing weather. We ran trains over the four day holiday carrying families with kids face painted to look like various members of the cat family- mainly tigers and lions but no ocelots as far as we could tell Easter also gave the Railway the chance to use the new back-road in the Station which has definitely made shunting far easier for the crews and helps speed up the turnaround of trains
Our 2012 Customer Satisfaction Questionnaire makes for interesting reading. Passengers were more than satisfied with their rides with many coming back for more. They almost all came as local families and found out about us through the grapevine. They liked our prices and our cheerful staff. A number of minor improvements were suggested which we are looking into.
The Barry Box teddy has now moved in permanently. In exchange for keeping the signal box neat and tidy and making the tea he has permission to wave to the trains as they go past. His (smaller) relatives are sometimes on the footplate- you can sometimes see them in the drivers cabs if you look closely.
As ever new volunteer staff are always welcome. We would be particularly interested in trainee drivers, guards, engineers and platform staff. Come down to Brogdale on Wednesdays or Sundays (11-4) and make yourself known to staff. We show you round and then hopefully talk you into joining us!
And finally for those who need any reminding we can be booked for parties, weddings and the like at very reasonable rates. Contact Mick on 01795 474211 for details or try the other contact details on this site.
